One goal is all it took to name the Okotoks Oilers the U17 AAA Provincial Champions.
The Oilers found the back of the net nearly mid-way through the first period to clinch the title. In the 1-0 win over the Fort Saskatchewan South Fort Chev Rangers, the Oilers goaltender, Connor White, faced 49 shots.
In the bronze medal game, the Calgary Northstars overcame the St. Albert Tetz Powell CPAs Flyers, 3-2.
The tournament, held in St. Albert, was a five-team tournament that took place April 6-9. Rounding out the tournament were the Sherwood Park Squires.
This weekend marked the final weekend of the 2023 Hockey Alberta Provincial Championships presented by ATB.
