The Alberta Elite Hockey League is pleased to announce Nolan Stewart, Ordell Saddleback Jr., and Jensen Marsh as the Players of the Month for February.
U18 AAA – Nolan Stewart (Forward – Edmonton Jr. Oilers Blue)
Stewart suited up in nine games for Oilers Blue and he made an impact. The Victoria Royals prospect posted 14 points in those nine contests, which included 11 assists. Stewart had a stellar regular season, going well over a point-per-game, with 15 goals and 50 points. Five of his 15 goals were game winners.
U17 AAA – Ordell Saddleback Jr. (Forward – LJAC Techmation Oil Kings)
Saddleback Jr. played seven games with the Oil Kings and led all players with an average of two points per game during the month. He finished with seven goals and seven assists.
“Ordell stepped up and scored some big goals in important games down the stretch, recording a hat trick in one of those games,” said Oil Kings head coach Cody Leeming.
U15 AAA – Jensen Marsh (Forward – Airdrie Xtreme)
Marsh had an outstanding month, playing in 11 games for the Xtreme. Marsh went over a goal-per-game scoring 14 goals and adding 11 assists including two four-point performances. That pace wasn’t anything different from the rest of his season, as the Cochrane native had 28 goals and 59 points in 32 games as the Xtreme’s team captain.
“Jensen has been a significant leader for our team both on and off the ice. He has led by example on the ice and carried the team to a very successful month, while also helping make his teammates around him better. He’s been ultra positive throughout struggles this season while also lifting his teammates up. He has taken his game as well as his mentality to an elite level this past month,” said Xtreme head coach Alec Miller.
